The Killers: Somebody Told Me

Friday, May 19th, 2006

I’ve been listening to this song most everyday on the way to work, Walmart, or what ever…..
Sound like disco song from ‘70….The lyrics is kind of funny…The group is The Killers from UK.
But, this song is great one to dance, even Kaela love it…..

Breaking my back just to know your name
Seventeen tracks and I’ve had it with this game
I’m breaking my back just to know your name
But heaven ain’t close in a place like this
Anything goes but don’t blink you might miss
Cause heaven ain’t close in a place like this
I said heaven ain’t close in a place like this
Bring it back down, bring it back down tonight
Never thought I’d let a rumor ruin my moonlight

Well somebody told me
You had a boyfriend
Who looked like a girlfriend
That I had in February of last year
It’s not confidential
I’ve got potential

Ready? Let’s roll onto something new
Taking its toll and I’m leaving without you

Cause heaven ain’t close in a place like this
I said heaven ain’t close in a place like this
Bring it back down, bring it back down tonight
Never thought I’d let a rumor ruin my moonlight

Well somebody told me
You had a boyfriend
Who looked like a girlfriend
That I had in February of last year
It’s not confidential
I’ve got potential
A rushin’, a rushin’ around

Pace yourself from me
I said maybe baby please
But I just don’t know now
When all I wanna do is try

On the Race

Wednesday, May 17th, 2006

One Sunday Morning,

We got up at 6am which was a bit unusual ….since Nick (my brother in law) had his bike race at Lawrence.
The bed was so warm, so it was kind of irritating when the alarm clock went off……Oh my…
Had a quick breakfast and off we go…..
Phillip was sitting behind the steer so I had a chance to close my eyes and enjoyed the morning breeze while Kaela was sitting at the back seat nicely and kept talking as an early bird singing happily to the sun……

Jennifer was there, and we even had a chance to wish Nick a good luck!
I saw the biker on their cool Jersey, sleek helmet and black sunglasses…..Suddenly I wished that I was one of them….. behind the start line, steady face, my legs are strong, just ready to pump up my adrenaline..Yeeeaahhhhh! Carondolette_06_2
But then, hey…I’m just a lazy bump who don’t have even a courage to take morning walk. Sunday morning and freezing temperature..Helooooo….I rather to hide under blanket on my bed.
That was Nick’s race on behalf of his team from Saint Louis University, an USA National Championship. He is doing great so far, hopefully will replace Lance Armstrong in the future!Carondolette_06_6

So, the race started…..those biker were crazy…they had to go on 60 some minutes race on certain laps (was it?) and I tell you, they were fast…..There was one of kind accident happened, the one just like   I saw on TV show sometimes, when one biker fell and hit another and followed by others….what a big mess. But, they rose quickly and continued the race.
When Nick were passing, we yelled out
‘C’mon Nick….you’re doing great.." we have to yell it quick though since he only passing within a second.
"Yeaaahhh Nick…"
"Go Nick…"
"Coil……."
Phil, Jennifer, Kaela and me.
We yelled and yelled and yelled again until we decided to warmed up our spirit at Starbucks…Yummm….

The race past, and Nick survived.
Then the next one was the girls race……Hmmm….Biker Girls…Girl on the Bike..
My eyes turned to Kaela,
"Hey Kaela…do you want to be those girls…..cool uh?"
"Like uncle…?"
"Yes ..like uncle…going to the race…" there I was playing Mother Wishes on Daughter game again!!
"OK….." she replied without a blink.
I was there then smiling!!

Gunung Merapi

Saturday, May 13th, 2006

Baru baca KOMPAS net mengenai perkembangan gunung Merapi. Ngeri sekali….bisa kelihatan aliran lava merah keluar dari puncak gunung.
Duh…mana masih banyak lagi masyarakat belum mengungsi. Mudah-mudahan gunung Merapi tidak jadi meletus…..kasihan rakyat disekitarnya.

Vince Vaughn

Wednesday, May 10th, 2006

I watched Oprah show with Vince Vaughn as a guest.
OMG…He is hottie!!
I don’t know if it was because "Jennifer Aniston" factor or he is just  very..very..interesting cute  handsome big man!!
He seems low profile and totally not like Brad Pitt -who lots people said the sexiest man in Hollywood, not me..never thinks that Brad Pitt is handsome-.
Ahhh…it’s hot in here!!

Finally

Sunday, May 7th, 2006

Yesterday, we attended  Phillip’s college graduation ceremony.
It was nice and was really different than mine. There were only about 300-350 students graduated because William Jewel is a small private college. On_the_hill
But what still remaining the same is that this event is always kind of Family Moment. I mean, I saw so many group of people of the graduate student from mother, father, brother, sister, grandparents, uncle, aunt, and friends. The nice thing that they do which is different from my graduation ceremony that people could yell or claps when the name of the graduate being called. So fun!!Picture_020

Phillip graduated with Magna cum Laude(3.75-3.89 GPA), we didn’t  know that at the beginning, even Phillip was surprised  that he could graduate with that honor. I being told by Mr.Porter -a family friend-who came to the graduation, when I met him and his wife accidentally at the ceremony.
"Congratulation that Phillip got magna cum laude.."
And I answered like, "Really?…….hmmmm….." *Blank*
Anyway, I don’t mean to sound snob or anything like that because I know that some people did super great with their school, just like Scoot Croner (Janty’s husband) who got his two master degree at the same time in 3 years…..Eeuwww……Or Tesa who will have heart attack if she got B grade….whaz up with that??
But, yeah, Phillip was working very hard between school, works, family especially me..hehehe, friends, poor financial situation, the tornado, and still have time to manage the home association owner of the condo that we living in. Seriously, just to see how was he doing all of that..makes me don’t want to go back to school anymore..hahahha!!
So….Congratulation to Phil!
Salute….!Us

Cheers…..!
