Bahrain Family Holiday
Thursday, November 3rd, 2005Phillip and I invited both our family for our wedding in Bahrain. My family lives in Indonesia and that was the first time for my family except for my aunt to travel outside Indonesia, on the other hand Phillip’s parents had to fly from US all the way to Middle East, we were really glad that they arrived safe. It was so exhausting to arrange the visas for my whole family since they never visit Bahrain before.
I was on duty when they arrived so Phillip had to clean the house and shopped for the guests. When I came back from flight, just to see that the whole family were there waiting made me nervous. I couldn’t stop my self giggling until Bibi said "Whoaa…you don’t want to scare your future in law because all you can do is giggling in front of them on the first meeting" Oopss!!
Then we were busy going around Bahrain (Saudi’s bridge, The Souq, Bahrain Museum, Tree of Life, shopping), doing wedding preparation, etc. Although there was a language barrier -since my mom and grandma both can’t speak English-, this East and West family were easily getting along.
I only hope that we will have another family holiday in Indonesia or US or somewhere else soon, except the next one without my grandma since she passed away in February 2005
